Whitchurch Food Bank
In October, our school launched a Harvest Collection in support of the Whitchurch Food Bank. Thanks to the incredible generosity of staff and friends of Physis Academy and Physis Care, three of our students were able to visit the Whitchurch Food Bank on the 5th December to personally deliver the donations.
As part of this meaningful experience, the students carefully budgeted and used donated funds to purchase much-needed food and Christmas items from the local supermarket. Combined with the generous collection of tins and toiletries donated at school, the students delivered an impressive total of 31.4kg of supplies.
These donations helped support over 70 families — including 117 adults and 167 children — through Christmas food parcels. Parcels also included a new toy for every child, ensuring they were able to enjoy Christmas too.
The Whitchurch Food Bank’s motto reminds us: “Never forget that every item we receive makes a world of difference to someone in despair, and we cannot thank you enough for standing with us.”
Our students and staff are proud to have stood alongside the Whitchurch Food Bank this year and look forward to supporting them again next year.
