  • Location: Physis Academy, Whitchurch SY13.

  • Hours: Part Time - 1/2 Days.

  • Weeks: 39. Term time, plus 5 days (or equivalent hours) for attendance at training / meetings.

  • Phase: KS3 & KS4

We are looking for a Hair Tutor to join our fantastic team at Physis Academy.

Core Purpose

  • To deliver a broad, balanced, and engaging Hair curriculum across a range of qualification pathways, tailored to meet the individual needs, interests, and aspirations of each pupil.

  • To provide high-quality practical and theoretical teaching in hair, adapting learning for small group and 1:1 settings using trauma-informed approaches to support pupils who have experienced adversity.

  • To create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to explore their creativity, develop practical life and employability skills, and achieve recognised vocational qualifications.

  • To ensure pupils' special educational needs are met through a consistent, high-quality approach that reflects the organisation's therapeutic values, promoting positive relationships, resilience, and personal growth.

  • To support pupils in developing professional standards, customer care skills, health and safety awareness, and an understanding of industry expectations, preparing them for successful progression into the workplace.

  • The ability to contribute to the delivery of additional vocational or enrichment subjects is desirable but not essential.

  • To work collaboratively as part of the wider school team and act as a positive role model and ambassador for Physis.

The Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.

  • Recent and relevant experience industry experience with strong practical skills.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Passion for supporting young people and helping them succeed.

  • Experience of working with secondary students with SEN, SEMH and other needs is desirable.
