JOB OVERVIEW
Physis Heathgates Academy is a unique school with a capacity to educate 11 young people, but we are growing and have plans to increase our student numbers to approximately 22. Our class sizes are therefore still very small, and our curriculum delivery is personalised. Our young people generally enjoy school, their behaviour is very good, and they deserve the very best. However, sometimes they struggle to remain motivated, or need a little help to process the other aspects of their lives, and this is where the pastoral mentor is crucial to their positive school experience.
Are you able to help them in this role?
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Working with the SENDCo the Pastoral Mentor will provide care, guidance, pastoral support and encouragement to students. A ‘can do’ attitude is also essential in this demanding support role where no two days may ever be the same! However, the rewards are great, and you will find yourself smiling as you work with our young people.
If you are the type of person who strives to meet the needs of every child and has a proven track record of successfully working with young people, then this opportunity is made for you. Furthermore, if you are able, or would like the opportunity to deliver some regular sessions such as cooking, or art therapy, with our young people then this opportunity should not be missed!
