Art Spotlight: Bronze & Silver Award Creativity!

Our young people at Physis Academy have been exploring their artistic talents through the unique and imaginative world of Tim Burton–inspired portrait drawing as part of their Bronze and Silver Award work.

Drawing from Burton’s iconic blend of German Expressionism and Gothic aesthetics, students have been experimenting with:

Exaggerated and distorted features

Strong contrasts of light and shadow

Pale-skinned characters with oversized eyes

Skeletal shapes and whimsical proportions

Dark, muted colour palettes

Gothic clothing, stripes, and wild, untamed hair

The result? Artwork with a dreamlike, slightly eerie, and incredibly expressive atmosphere — full of character and creativity.
