Child Development at Physis Academy

This academic year, we introduced Child Development as a new vocational qualification, and it has quickly become one of our most popular options!

Our young people have been learning essential skills around the general care of a baby, using realistic training dolls to safely practise:

Preparing a bottle feed correctly

Changing a nappy

Understanding home safety

Creating a safe sleep environment

Basic hygiene and handling techniques

These hands-on sessions help build confidence, responsibility, and an understanding of real-life caregiving skills — all within a safe, supportive learning environment.

We’re incredibly proud of the maturity and focus our students have shown as they work through this exciting new course. Well done to everyone involved!
